Glycemic index is the rating of blood sugar impact for a given food; the higher the number, the more volatile and unhealthy the glucose variability.
The more elevated and volatile glucose is, the more rampant inflammation and consequently all degenerative health conditions get.
Whole grain has one of the highest glycemic index ratings. Some white bread rates lower. Snickers rates lower than most bread.
