ELEV8 YOGA & DANCE INSTRUCTOR
“My intention as a yoga and dance teacher is to invite people to cultivate a stronger and kinder mind-body connection. A more embodied presence helps us to feel more connected to our own inner guidance system. Through compassionate mindful movement, we cultivate a stronger awareness of our needs. The more aware we are of our needs, the better able we are to meet them. Our thoughts, emotions, and sensations are indicators that something is asking for attention. I love encouraging others to find a healthier mind-body relationship through movement. I encourage those who practice with me to find their own embodiment and empowerment, whether practicing yoga or dancing."

ELEV8 STRENGTH AND MOBILITY COACH
Alex became a personal trainer in early 2018, but her passion for health and fitness began long before. Though her major was in Political Science, Alex branched out from her alma mater, Macalester College, and began coursework in human health and nutrition at both St. Thomas University in Minnesota, and abroad at King’s College in London. The main focus of Alex’s work and research in the political realm related to food policy and nutrition equity. Her approach to a healthy lifestyle is holistic; focusing on the importance of proper movement patterns, nutritional balance, and other factors such as sleep and stress reduction. In 2018, Alex also became a firefighter/EMT with the Vadnais Heights Fire Department, which furthered her focus on functional strength and mobility for both herself and her clients, to help keep the body operating at its best whether lifting a sledgehammer or daily groceries. In her free time, Alex develops workout programs for other firefighters, reads, travels, and enjoys long weekends at her family cabin.
