It’s been 10 days since stem cell injection into my right knee to help cure the laxity. I’ve got about a hundred fewer pounds on the bar than prior to procedure (video: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bym-PHrjGFu/); and that feels about right for right now in the stages of healing.
One thing I didn’t talk about in prior posts was eating for recovery. I made the mistake previously of under-eating after my pec tear surgery, which was so fundamentally flawed in hindsight. This past week, on the contrary, I hit 500grams of protein per day leading up to, on, and the days after injection. That, plus more than my normal carb and fat intake left me feeling puffy for sure. But that temporary body comp cost is worth the outcome.
I’ve written plenty of times about sufficiency. Stay tuned, as I’ll be posting some of the mobility work which was surprisingly BETTER than before procedure already.
